This area used to be a military base, but nowadays it is a Flemish Community property. This 230-hectare nature reserve of the same name is home to one of the countrys largest youth hostels. Youngsters and anyone who is young at heart can stay in the restored ammunition depots or residential buildings.
In this area you can enjoy many aspects of the Kempen landscape. Here you will find vast pine forests, dry and wet heathland and peat bogs, but also former arable land with special oak coppice.
