French toast with honey and artisanal ice cream

ingredients

  • stale bread, cut into slices
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 ml lukewarm milk
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 3 tablespoons liquid honey
  • olive oil
  • artisanal vanilla ice cream from Kasterlee

method

  1. Beat the eggs in a shallow bowl with the milk, honey and cinnamon
    powder.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep pan.
  3. Place the slices of bread one after another in the milk and remove them
    straight away.
  4. Fry the bread for around 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Arrange the French toast on 2 plates, dribble over the remaining honey
    and serve with artisanal ice cream.
