On Pumpkin Day, the Kasterlee market square becomes an arts & crafts fair where you can taste all sorts of pumpkin delicacies. It is also the day on which the heaviest pumpkin is weighed.
Pumpkin Day attracts about 10,000 visitors to the centre of pumpkin town Kasterlee. It is one of the highlights in the pumpkin month of October, when the market square is the venue for a pleasant and well-visited arts & crafts fair. Basket weavers, wooden shoe makers, flailers… a good opportunity to learn about various old crafts.
Pumpkin delicacies
It is also the perfect time for gourmets. Dozens of stalls serve pumpkin delicacies, from pumpkin waffles to pumpkin fries, pumpkin soup, pumpkin beer and so much more. Definitely worth tasting! A bit of music and childrens animation will help create a pleasant atmosphere. Children can even take a ride in a genuine pumpkin carriage.
Pumpkin weigh-off
On Pumpkin Day, all eyes are on the pumpkin weigh-off. Kasterlee prides itself in growing giant pumpkins. You can register for the competition on site in the morning.
